Today we celebrated Sister Frances’s 70th birthday! Father Philip offered Mass for her intentions. Last Sunday we had a farewell party for him, and he thanked Sister Frances for all her kindness to him over the years. He said, he realised very soon in his dealings with her, ‘This is someone who will look after me!’
We showed our gratitude in a different way: Sister Frances was born on the day of the late queen’s coronation, and her father used to tell her, they had street parties all through the land to celebrate on the day she was born. So in the evening, we finally crowned her queen, with great solemnity.
In the photos, you can see the birthday cake shaped like a football, because Sister Frances is a keen Celtic supporter.
